The province of Marinduque is known for its Moriones Festival. The "Moriones" are men and women in costumes and masks replicating the garb of biblical Roman soldiers as interpreted by local folks. Aside from that, Marinduque has also hidden gem to be proud of. 🌊
Maniwaya Island is a secluded island located in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque. The island is not famous as Boracay but if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to "chillin" this place is perfect for solo and group travellers. 🌴🌼
Locals are nice and very accomodating and willing to assist your needs especially when you're asking for directions.
How to get there? 🚍
We opt to get there via General Luna in Quezon Province since its nearer from our location. 🤗
From Dau, Pampanga ride a bus going Cubao: 103.00
2 hrs travel time.
Ask the driver to drop you at JAC/JAM LINER Bus Terminal in Cubao.
From Cubao ride a bus bound to LUCENA:
218.00 (3-4hrs travel time)
LUCENA GRAND TERMINAL TO GENERAL LUNA PORT: 160.00 (2hrs travel time)
From General Luna port we charter a boat to pick and drop us to the port for only P5000 good for 8pax-10pax. (1 hr travel time)
includes the island hopping to Ungab Rock formation and Palad Sandbar.

If you are in smaller group you may choose to wait for the passenger boat that leaves 10 o'clock in the morning from the port daily. And 6 o'clock in the morning from Maniwaya Island to General Luna Port. 150.00per way. (2hrs travel time)
Where to stay?
Wawie's Beach Resort is the largest resort in the island. Secure your reservation before your travel date especially during weekends.

Notes:
🔥 The resort offers meals for only 200.00 per meal. Just tell them ahead of time because its only limited but if you guys were in budget you may bring canned goods then avail rice from the resort (15.00/cup)
🔥 There is also a wet market near General Luna port if you want to buy some necessities before going to the Island.
🔥 If you are a solo traveller you may join other groups from the island for your island hopping, the resort is willing to assist on this matter. just pay a specific amount for it.
🔥 Water and Electricity are Available but it has cut off time
🔥 Signal is Good
🔥 Restrooms are available too pero bawal sa Maarte. ☺️
🔥 Palad Sandbar shows only during low tide (3-4pm)
🔥 Other activities available like banana boat riding, snorkeling (bring your own gears or rent 250/wholeday) and henna tattoos. Souvenir shops are also available, mura lang.
